Sustainability

Sustainability isn't a program at CLN. It's what we deliver.

Every pound CLN recovers is a pound that doesn't go to landfill or incineration, and a pound of material industry doesn't have to extract. That impact measures up.

Our commitments

Circular by design, accountable by default.

Keep materials in use

We return recovered aluminum, plastics and other materials to industry as spec-grade feedstock, reducing reliance on virgin resources and strengthening domestic supply.

Divert from landfill and incineration

Our processes are designed to replace disposal, not move it somewhere else. Diversion is measured stream by stream.

Handle hazardous streams safely

Airbags, aerosols, batteries, explosives and contaminated soils are managed through controlled, compliant workflows that protect people and communities.

Full traceability

Documented workflows, chain-of-custody controls and destruction certificates give our customers visibility from pick-up to final outcome.

Data customers can report on

Verified circular outcomes give manufacturers credible data for their sustainability commitments and ESG reporting.

Remediate, not just recycle

From hazardous soils to PFAS remediation, we help clean up legacy contamination as well as preventing new waste.

Why it matters

For decades, the sector treated landfill and incineration as the default. We treat them as a failure to recover.

Corporations face growing pressure to eliminate waste-to-disposal practices. Customers want viable, sustainable alternatives to traditional service providers. CLN exists to be that alternative, at industrial scale.

Our people

People are our priority.

Sustainability starts with the people who make recovery possible. Across every CLN facility, we're committed to safeguarding the health, safety and wellbeing of our teams, and to being a good neighbour in the communities where we operate.

  • Safety first. Hazardous and energetic materials demand discipline. Controlled workflows, the right protective equipment and ongoing training are built into every process, at every site.
  • Wellbeing at work. We look after the whole person, supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of everyone who works for CLN.
  • Rooted in our communities. From Toronto and Campbellford to Ansonia, our facilities are local employers and neighbours, and we work to strengthen the communities around them.

Reporting

Your impact, measured.

We're building a consistent impact framework across the network, covering tonnes diverted, materials returned to market and emissions avoided. We'll publish our first results here.
