Connecticut Metal Industries ("CT Metal"), North America's leading recycler of aluminum foil and laminate scrap, is now a CLN company. In continuous operation since 1985, CT Metal runs a 35,000-square-foot facility in Ansonia, Connecticut, where it recovers foils, films, laminates, nonwovens and paper roll stock for the printing, packaging and laminating industries.

Aluminum from materials others landfill

Foil laminates bond aluminum to plastic and paper, which makes them one of the hardest packaging materials to recycle. CT Metal buys bare foil, lacquered foil and plastic and paper laminates, along with edge trim, damaged rolls, skeleton scrap and other aluminum-based materials. Its environmentally sound process recovers the aluminum and converts the polymers into fuel for the process itself. Today CT Metal recovers a few million pounds of aluminum a month from packaging scrap.

CT Metal also provides certified destruction for sensitive material, so printers and converters can recycle misprints, proprietary designs and branded packaging with confidence that it won't reach the market.

A second life for surplus roll stock

Not every roll needs to be broken down. Through its WeBuyRolls brand, CT Metal buys usable surplus roll stock, including aluminum foil, metallized film and paper, coated and uncoated paper, label stock and tape, plastic film and nonwoven fabric. Much of it is re-slit, overprinted or reused in new packaging applications, keeping it in use at its highest value.

Experience that stays with the business

What it means for customers

Converters, laminators and packaging producers working with CT Metal keep the same hands-on service, with pick-up available anywhere in North America. They also gain access to the full CLN network, including plastics recovery, hazardous waste processing and secure destruction, through a single relationship, helping them move toward zero waste at their facilities.
